How do I replace a Xerox Phaser 4510 Maintenance Kit?
August 2nd, 2012 at 11:40 am   starstarstarstarstar

A typical Xerox Phaser 4510 maintenance kit includes the following parts:

1 fuser

1 transfer roller

12 paper feed rollers

Replacing these parts are fairly straight forward and can be done even if you're not mechanically inclined.

  1. Power OFF the printer. Press the power switch that is located on the front of the printer, on the bottom left side, to the (O) position.

    Power OFF

  2. Disconnect the power cord and allow the Fuser to cool for 30 minutes.
  3. If installed, push up on the Duplex Unit release button to open the unit on the back of the printer.

  4. Lift up the Rear Cover release lever to open the cover.

  5. Press down on the two orange latches on the bottom, left and right sides of the Fuser to unlock the Fuser.

NOTE: Do not adjust the position of the green latches on the top, left and right sides of the Fuser. The green latches are used to help remove paper jams.

  6. Grasp both sides of the Fuser and then pull evenly on both sides to remove the Fuser from the printer. Do not use the green latches to remove the Fuser.

NOTE: Do not force the latches into place. If one or more of the latches will not easily lock into position, make sure the Fuser is the correct Fuser for the Phaser 4510 printer.

  9. Close the Rear Cover.
  10. If installed, close the Duplex Unit.
