NOTE: The Print Cartridge (toner) is a Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU). The machine will display a message on the Touch Screen when the Print Cartridge needs to be reordered. This message is a warning that the cartridge is nearing the end of its capacity. Only replace the Print Cartridge when a message is displayed prompting to do so.

To replace the Print Cartridge:

  1. Remove any paper from the Bypass Tray located on the front of the machine.

    remove paper from bypass tray

  2. Fold the Bypass Tray extension to the closed position.

    close bypass tray

  3. Lift the Bypass Tray into the closed position and make sure that the tray is securely closed.

    Close tray

  4. Press on the release latches on the upper, left and upper, right sides of the Front Cover, and then open the Front Cover.

    Grasp front cover latches

    Open front cover

  5. Grasp the handle on the Print Cartridge and pull straight out to remove the cartridge from the machine.

NOTE: Follow the instructions that are packed with the new Print Cartridge to dispose of the used Print Cartridge as normal office waste, or recycle it in accordance with local regulations.

  6. Before removing the packaging from the new Print Cartridge, shake it well to distribute the Toner (Dry Ink).
  7. Remove the new Print Cartridge from its packaging, and then insert the cartridge into the machine. Make sure to align the cartridge properly with the inside of the machine, and make sure that it is fully seated.

    Insert print cartridge

    Insert print cartridge

  8. Close the Front Cover.

    Close front cover

  9. Select the [Confirm] button on the Touch Screen.

NOTE: If the Print Cartridge has been replaced following a "Replace Print Cartridge" message on the Touch Screen, the machine will assume the Toner Cartridge is new and will reset the Toner Usage Counters and messages.

If, however, a new Print Cartridge has been installed without a "Replace Print Cartridge" message being displayed, the Toner Usage Counters will need to be reset manually.
